John Hallman, the service associate in the desktop receiving my car for service asked me in an aggressive tone of voice that I should seriously think in what country I really want to live, after a discussion on which he constantly questioned and berated me for having fixed my odometer in kilometers, and not in miles. I consider this a serious and concerning incident, it has never occurred to me anywhere else. The first thing I did was to pointing out to Mr. Hallman that I have my odometer fixed at kilometers (not miles) and that might have caused a confusion, since the agency system seem to have set my mileage record in miles, using the km record, and ask him to make a correction on the system. This request seems to have upset him, since he started raising his voice to point out to me that we measure distances in miles in this country, and that he could not correct the mileage in the system. When I pointed out that I have requested this in the past with no problem, he seem to grow increasingly upset and continue to raise his voice, indicating me again that I was wrong, and obtaining wrong lectures from my car because of my negative to set the odometer in miles. After a brief discussion and getting tired of his aggressive tone, I pointed out to him that this was my car, that I use it, and that I can set the odometer the way I like it. His response, in an aggressive tone was that then I should really think in what country I really want to live. I find his behavior, utterances, and tone of voice unacceptable, and threatening. I have been taking my 2019 Jetta to this agency since I bought the car as I have always received a professional and courteous service, and I trust the ability and skills of the personnel working there. I should have asked to talk to his supervisor and the manager immediately, but I was really shocked by this response, which I would not expect from anyone, let alone from someone that is supposed to be giving me a professional service. I report this incident by mail to the Service Supervisor (Keith Jones) and the agency vice-president (Hussein Farzad) on Thursday evening (2 working days ago) and I have not received yet any response.
